Terms of Service

Effective June 7, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and MayPrompt governing your use of mayprompt.com and our learning services (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Template notice. This document is a thorough, good-faith starting point. It is not legal advice. Before launch, have it reviewed by a licensed attorney for your jurisdiction — especially the children's-data (COPPA), schools (FERPA), and dispute-resolution sections.

1Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 to create your own account. Children aged 8–12 may use the Service only through a supervised profile created and managed by a parent or legal guardian (see Section 9). If you create an account for an organization, you represent that you’re authorized to bind it.

You’re responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current. Notify us of any unauthorized use.

2The Service & educational nature

MayPrompt teaches prompt engineering through lessons, drills, a practice library, and an interactive analyzer. The analyzer's grades, diagnostics, and feedback are produced by a deterministic, rule-based engine — not a live AI model — and are provided for educational purposes only. They are guidance, not professional, legal, financial, medical, or academic advice.

3Subscriptions, trials & billing

  • Some tracks are free; others require a paid subscription. Pricing is shown at sign-up and on the Pricing page.
  • Free trials, where offered, convert to paid subscriptions at the end of the trial unless cancelled beforehand.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel anytime; access continues through the end of the paid period.
  • Fees are billed through our payment processor. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
  • We may change pricing prospectively with notice; changes don’t affect the current paid period.

4Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break the law or infringe others’ rights using the Service.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service or its security (including the bot-protection measures).
  • Share your account, resell access, or use the Service to build a competing product.
  • Upload unlawful, harmful, or abusive content, or attempt to access data that isn’t yours.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5Your content

You retain ownership of the text you submit (e.g., prompts you write in drills). You grant us a limited license to process and store it solely to operate the Service and show your (or, for children, the parent’s) progress and history. You’re responsible for the content you submit.

6Intellectual property

The Service — including the curriculum, exercises, analyzer logic, branding, and software — is owned by MayPrompt and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

7Enterprise & organization use

If you use the Service under an organization account, the organization’s administrator may manage seats and view members’ learning progress and aggregate metrics within that organization. Organization use may be subject to a separate written agreement, which controls in case of conflict.

8Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that learning outcomes will be achieved.

9Children & parental responsibility

A parent/guardian who creates a child profile is responsible for supervising the child’s use, for the accuracy of consent, and for the content the child submits. Parents can review and delete a child’s data at any time. See our COPPA notice and Privacy Policy.

10Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MayPrompt and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD $100.

11Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold MayPrompt harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account anytime. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or to comply with law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g., IP, disclaimers, liability, indemnity) will survive.

13Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [your state], United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in [your county/state], and you consent to their jurisdiction — except where applicable law gives you the right to your local courts. (Your attorney should set the jurisdiction and decide whether to add binding arbitration and a class-action waiver.)

14Changes & contact

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced in-app with a new effective date. Continued use means acceptance. Questions: legal@mayprompt.com.
